“I’ve just finished reading your book and I absolutely loved it. I looked forward every afternoon to reading it. I love reading but I haven’t read for a while but your book has inspired me to start again.”
“I loved reading this book as it brought back so many memories of my own with stories of fishing and the closeness of the people in small country towns. So nice to be able to read names of towns from South Australia It really helped to get a true feeling of the surroundings & I could even smell and hear the ocean whilst reading! I think your book actually transgresses all ages - young readers can certainly relate to the adventures of young Sam and more mature readers can recall the years spent having seaside holidays and going fishing. A very enjoyable read - one which is difficult to put down. Well done!”
“Congratulations on your first book. I have just finished it and I honestly couldn’t put it down. From start to finish it had me captivated, I even shed a tear or two towards the end (no spoilers provided). It really is a must read for all ages. Well done Stephen. I’m excited for the sequel and what Sam might have in store next time.”
“A fantastic first novel by Stephen Cibich, local South Australian author. Based around some gorgeous SA locations, the book talks to family, grief, coming of age and is an adventurous read that feels like it could really be a screenplay. Can totally recommend for Primary Teachers for a class novel!”
“As a young reader I loved the stories by Colin Thiele, set in familiar parts of SA. My other favourites were the children’s visits to the magical world of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Imagine my delight to discover a story by a new Adelaide author which has elements of both of those writers. The setting is the familiar coast of S.A. where a young boy is holidaying with his grandparents, learning to sail and fish, while recovering from the loss of his beloved father. The detail and description of this is enough to enthrall and satisfy the most discerning reader, but it goes to another level. Through the magic of the mysterious lighthouse the boy is transported back in time where he encounters children once lived in the same cottage where he is staying. As an adult I loved this story. As a teacher it is definitely one I would share with my class.”
“Hi Stephen, I finished reading your 2nd book and absolutely loved it! It was so perfectly descriptive that I felt like I was part of the sailing adventure. A nice ending too with a definite hint of a 3rd novel which I look forward to. You have definitely got a special talent in writing.”
“Just finished Stephen Cibich's second novel after The Secret of the Lighthouse. This novel, The Lighthouse Revisited follows the same boy Sam who has amazing adventures on sailing boats. I don't know much about sailing, so I enjoyed learning the language of sailing, which Stephen incorporates so smoothly into a page turning storyline. My 10 year old grandson is now ensconced on a chair near me reading the first book! I think primary teachers and kids would love it.”
“I have almost finished reading the Light House Revisited and I am enjoying it a lot. As a reasonably experienced yachtsman I can close my eyes while reading this book and imagine that I am cruising the South Australian coast. Such is Stephen’s knowledge of his topic.”
