FUNDRAISING

Stephen never set out to make a lot of money from his books! He just wanted to share his stories with a wide audience, in particular primary school aged children, whose literary choices are often limited. After going down the self-publishing route, he decided that all the profits from his book sales would go towards Australian Cancer Research and patient/family support. Both causes very close to his heart.

SHITBOX RALLY (Autumn 2025)

Stephen was a participant in this unique car rally, which sees teams setting off on a week long driving adventure in cars worth no more than $1500! Each team raises money via donations prior to the rally, which is then given to Cancer Council Australia. Stephen’s team “Metal Mayhem” raised $22 000 this year, with profits from his books included in this total.

LEUKAEMIA FOUNDATION - BRIDGESTONE AUSTRALIA BLOOD CANCER CENTRE, ADELAIDE

Stephen is donating all the profits from his new The Secret of the Lighthouse - Special Illustrated Edition to this amazing centre. Located in Lightsview, SA this accommodation centre is primarily for blood cancer patients and their families, from regional areas of SA and NT. In fact his family has a strong connection to the Bridgestone Centre, as his sister stayed there for many months after her Bone Marrow Transplant and his late father has a memorial plaque in the grounds.

Opened in October 2013, this purpose-built complex includes 15 two and three bedroom apartments, as well as recreational facilities including a games room, gym and children’s play area.

It has been designed specifically for the special needs of people staying there, taking into account factors such as a patient’s reduced immune function during treatment and the importance of creating a supportive and relaxing environment for families at such a difficult time.

The centre is within a 15 minute drive to both the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The Leukaemia Foundation’s Head Office for South Australia is also located on-site, giving families immediate access to care and support.”
